Media Player Classic supports an application called WiFiRemotePlay available on Nokia Ovi Store. An excellent and handy tool to use while watching a movie.
It supports very basic UI over Nokia phones, but truly a useful tool.
Required setup:
1. Network enabled PC or Laptop
2. Media Player Classic
3. A WiFi router
4. Nokia phone with WiFiRemotePlay software.
Configurations for Media Player Classic:
1. Find IP address of PC or Laptop
2. Open Media Player Classic-->View-->Options-->Player-->Web Interface->
3. Set the check-boxes as shown below.
4. Port can be changed as per requirement.
5. "Enable compression" can be enabled to reduce traffic flow, but that introduces a lag.
6. Once the settings are applied then operating systems may automatically show a popup for granting firewall access.
Configurations for WiFiRemotePlay software:
1. Open software on Nokia phone
2. Options-->Settings
3. Enter IP address of PC or Laptop
4. Make sure that port entered here and that on PC or Laptop are same.
5. Press "okay" to save and connect Media Player Classic.
6. Network Access point will be selected for connection with PC or Laptop.
Features:
1. Play/Pause
2. Volume up/down
3. FF/RR
4. Option-->Toggle Full Screen (Media Player Classic will be toggled)
5. Option-->Open file browser (A simple file browser will open on phone showing present folder of PC or Laptop. Traversing is provided with selection of different media file)
Troubleshooting:
1. Make sure that it is IPv4 network
2. Firewall : Make sure that port used is unblocked and unused by any other software.
3. Router: Make sure that communication / firewall / settings are not blocking flow between two IP addresses.
