Outlook Express backup

Recently I changed my PC and following three steps helped me to quickly backup all my outlook data and restore it.

BACKUP

Step 1: Database
By default outlook express stores it's database to : Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{ZZZZ-ZZZZ-ZZZ}\Microsoft\Outlook Express
(If this path is not seen enable settings for showing hidden files and folders)
Copy all *.dbx files as backup of emails.

Step 2: Account settings
In outlook express, Tools-->Accounts
This will list all accounts configured. Select required account and click on "Export".
Save the account settings in .iaf format.

Step 3: Contacts
WindowsStart --> All programs --> Accessories --> Address Book
Select Main Identity's contacts and File --> Export --> Address Book (WAB)
This will save whole address book in .wab format.

RESTORE

Step 1 : Contacts
WindowsStart --> All programs --> Accessories --> Address Book
Then, File --> Import --> Address Book (WAB)

Step 2: Accounts
Open outlook express, if this is this the first time outlook is being opened, it will ask for account configuration. Just cancel the all dialog boxes.
Then go to Tools-->Accounts and click on "Import". Here previously saved account file .iaf can be imported.

Step 3: Database
Get the previously stored *.dbx files. Either save them in default folder or any custom folder as required.
Then if it's kept in default folder then just restarting the outlook express will show all previous email messaged.
If it's different folder then, Tools --> Options, select "Maintenance" tab, and click on "Store Folder..."
Click on "Change..." and select folder that contains *.dbx files and click on Ok.
A dialog box will appear stating "There appears to be an Outlook Express message store already in the folder that you have chosen. Do you want to switch to using that store? If not, it will be deleted and replaced with you current store."
Click Yes : so that this store will be used.
